The claim this site makes is checkable, which is the only kind worth making. Nothing below is proprietary. Anyone with a spreadsheet and an afternoon can download the same files and get the same answers — and if they get different ones, we want to hear about it.

Schools are joined across sources on the 14-digit CDS code, not on name. Two schools in California share a name more often than you would guess.
The site's central measure asks one question: does a school get the number of selective-campus offers its own students' measured achievement would predict?
Above 1.1× means the campuses made more offers than the school's measured achievement accounts for; below 0.9×, fewer; in between is parity. The measure is about a school, and it is not a judgment of any individual admit. Everyone admitted to a UC met the University's own published requirements.
This is the site's one real estimate, and it deserves the paragraph. The state publishes each test separately and does not publish how many students cleared both. The true count has to lie between two bounds: at most the smaller of the two counts, and at least their sum minus the number tested. We use the upper bound — that is, we assume students who exceeded in mathematics also exceeded in English.
That assumption is defensible: across California schools the two rates correlate at r = 0.83, and mathematics is the harder bar at 83% of them. It is also, deliberately, the assumption that is least favourable to this site's argument. Taking the upper bound inflates the denominator, which pushes every parity ratio down and makes over-admission harder to demonstrate, not easier.
Tell us which number, and we will show you the filing it came from or correct it — and say publicly that we did. That offer is the whole basis on which anything here is worth reading.
