Every California high school that sends students to the University of California, ranked by the total number admitted — Fall 2025 freshman admits, counted once per student no matter how many campuses said yes. #1 sends the most, and the list runs all the way down to the last school on it. Alongside each school: its poverty rate, its parental college experience, and the share of its juniors who passed the state SBAC tests in English and math.
Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon leads every public high school in California: 588 of its students were admitted to a UC for Fall 2025, out of 654 who applied — a 90% admit rate at a system that admits 78% of its public-school applicants statewide. Dublin High (466) and Arcadia High (420) follow. The striking thing is not the top of the list but its shape: 250 schools out of the roughly 1,300 that send anyone account for half of all 87,448 admits, and the top 100 alone — about 4% of California's public high schools — produce 28% of them.
The other four columns say what kind of school that is. Across the top 100 feeders, the average school is 32% low-income and has a parental college experience index of 86; across all 1,297 ranked public schools those figures are 63% and 60. On the state tests, the top-100 average is 77% passing English and 59% passing math, against statewide grade-11 rates of 57% and 31%.
